Cyprus Holidays Steeped in history with beautiful scenery and beaches, Cyprus is a holiday destination with something for everyone. The island’s 800km coastline offers a wide variety of amazing beaches, delightful rocky inlets and secluded, sandy coves. Cyprus's best beaches are found on the east coast around Ayia Napa and Protaras, while fine beaches in the Paphos area are at Coral Bay and on the Akamas peninsula. There are plenty of watersports on offer at the beaches in Ayia Napa and Protaras and the rocky coves of the Cape Greco peninsula are excellent for scuba diving. Shopping and nightlife are great - there's even an M&S to make you feel at home. In all a great Island full of friendly people and some really great cost-effective hotels.

| Paphos: Once the ancient capital of Cyprus, Paphos combines ancient history, notably the Tombs of the Kings, with all the resort 'mod cons'. The town is really divided into two - a quaint fishing harbour and atmospheric old town, both are relaxing and beautifully unhurried. Nearby is the popular and pretty harbour side area, guarded by a looming Venetian Fort and bordered by numerous open air terraced restaurants, cafes and bars where you can catch your breath in between bouts of sightseeing. The Old Town is a real shopping emporium made up of narrow streets housing numerous stores and a lively market to roam around. Holidays/hotels available: Avanti Village, Coral Beach, Elysium Beach Resort, Kefalos Beach Tourist Village,
Paphos Amathus Beach and the St George Gardens Hotel Suites. Limassol: Bustling Limassol is the Island's second largest city and has a cosmopolitan and lively mood. Limassol's history stretches into the ancient and Roman past, with impressive ruins to see at Amathus and Curium. Limassol is Cyprus's largest seaside resort, and arguably the least attractive. Backed by the towering Troodos mountains, it is essentially a seaside resort, Old Town and working seaport all rolled into one, so it caters for every possible taste. Shoppers will want to tour Limassol Old Town, an excellent place to pick up souvenirs. When you get hungry, there's a huge range of Cypriot and international cuisine on offer at restaurants, cafes and tavernas. The best nightlife is found in the Potamos Yermasoyias area. Lots of discos, numerous bars and tavernas, most with their own live bands. Holidays/hotels available: Amathus Beach ad the Four Seasons. |
