Fuerteventura Holidays:

Only 60 miles (100km) separates the island of Fuerteventura, second largest in the Canary archipelago, from the continent of Africa, and this sunny island shares the same latitude (and therefore weather conditions) with the renowned holiday destinations of Florida and Mexico. Unlike those bustling resort-ridden vacation stations, though, Fuerteventura is relatively undiscovered, its more than 150 idyllic sandy beaches only sparsely populated and many seldom visited at all. The island has an arid volcanic landscape, and apart from the beaches, not much to recommend it in the way of tourist amenities or attractions. This has kept the mega resorts and mass summer package holiday trade at bay, but it does have a fair share of day-trippers from the resorts of Lanzarote and Gran Canaria who come seeking a respite from the crowds.  The island’s own two main resort towns are Corralejo and Caleta del Fuste.

Selected Hotels & Holidays in Fuerteventura – Previous customer recommendations

Many first time visitors to Fuerteventura are unsure of which hotel or apartment offers good value for money. By visiting either of our Holidays in Fuerteventura, Hotels in Fuerteventura or Fuerteventura All Inclusive pages you will see a selection of holiday accommodation that has been visited by a previous customer and was found to offer good value and customer satisfaction. We try to offer a wide range of holiday accommodation in Fuerteventura so that you can decide on how much you wish to spend and steer away from just offering five-star hotels.

Holidays in Fuerteventura – A wide range of resorts

Caleta de Fuste, also known as El Castillo, is a modern, purpose-built resort with shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. The gently shelving beach and calm, shallow waters of the bay make this a popular choice with families. Water sports enthusiasts are also well catered for and facilities include windsurfing, scuba-diving and sailing. The main shopping area is traffic-free and here you will find boutiques and gift shops as well as bars and restaurants. There is a wide variety of places to eat and most tastes are catered for. The resort is well maintained with nicely planted public areas which are kept litter-free. The newly constructed, 18-hole golf course is the first on the island and we offer accommodation close by. Corralejo, once a fishing village, has seen a tremendous amount of development in the last few years and is now the island's main resort with a large selection of shops, bars and restaurants. In spite of its growth, it has managed to retain a village atmosphere with a main street colourful with flowers, an attractive town square and a largely traffic-free area, bordering the sea, where you can have a drink or a meal and admire the views across the bay. Night life is generally low-key with four discos, a selection of bars as well as free entertainment in the main square on most evenings. The modern, upmarket resort of Jandia lies on the southeast tip of the island, sandwiched between barren hills and a fabulous coastline. This resort attracts guests from all over Europe and is a popular spot for naturists. The spectacular beach seems to stretch on forever but you should take time out from lazing under the cloudless skies to visit the typically Canarian fishing village of Morro Jable which adjoins Jandia. The soft sands follow the coast for an incredible 32km. The coastal breezes make them a brilliant choice for experienced windsurfers. Evenings in Jandia more or less amounts to good food, good wine and good company, savoured in tapas bars and international restaurants.
