 Cala'n Blanes: The resort of Cala'n Blanes lies on the extreme west coast of Menorca and forms the largest tourist development on the island with its neighbours Cala'n Forcat and Los Delfines. There are the usual small shops, supermarket, pubs and restaurants you would expect in a resort but for more serious shopaholics the nearby former capital city of Ciutadella has a range of designer shops. Transport around the resort is made easy by the local mini train that runs around the resorts. The coastline is rugged around the west coast and local beaches can get busy in peak season. Nightlife is limited to the bars and restaurants so don't expect too much as you won't find a San Antonio or Playas de Las Americas anywhere on Menorca. Maybe that's why it's so popular with families and couples. |
