Sharm el Sheikh Holidays Sharm El Sheikh is a world class resort on the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt. It lies between the Red Sea and Mount Sinai. Sharm El Sheikh is holiday Mecca with high quality big name hotels and restaurants from around the world. It has arguably the best diving and snorkeling in the world. Holidaymakers can enjoy aquatic sports, the sun, and the breathtaking desert landscape. A day trip to Mount Sinai is a must with a visit to St. Catherine's monastery famous for the alleged burning of St. Catherine where it is said that the Catherine wheel firework was named after her. Sharm el Sheikh is an all year resort with daytime temperatures in the mid 20's in winter and reaching a scorching 40 degrees in the summer. Please take plenty of high factor sun block with you - especially for the children, as you can't always believe that it "does what it says on the tin" (bottle) when buying abroad.

| Naama Bay: Also called the Costa del Egypt or even Blackpool with the heat. It's got everything if you're after an hectic holiday including a Mc Donalds, Pizza Hut, Hard Rock Cafe and every other kind of eatery you could think of. Naama is a long sandy bay where the first hotel appeared in the early 80's. Thankfully the development is now complete and the seafront boasts a superb paved walkway following the full sweep of the bay. Naama Bay is busy and bustling, but if you want something quieter then best try another part of Sharm. Nuweiba can be divided into three main sections, the port of Nuweiba, the City which has a bazaar and tourist shops and Tarabin which is the real party area of the area. There's a casino at Dolphin Bay and an open air disco at the Helman Nuweiba hotel. The Coloured Canyon which lies between St. Catherine's Monastery and the town of Nuweiba has become a popular safari trek. Shark’s Bay (also known as the White Night) is an elite touristic area, with a wonderful combination of sea, gulf, and mountain scenery. It encompasses a number of high end 5-star hotels and resorts. Shark’s Bay is about a 20 minutes taxi ride from Naama Bay for those who want the night life but not the noise. Om el Sid Hill is one of the stunning viewing points of Sharm and Red Sea, situated on the plateau rising above the coast of Sinai Peninsula. The resort is about 10 miles from Sharm el Sheikh International airport with a journey time of around 20 minutes. The area enjoys one of the best spots for diving and snorkelling on the
beautiful beach in Sharm El Sheikh. There is a natural sandy 380m long beach, overlooking the wonderful famous Temple Reef, the second best protected area after Ras Mohamed. Nabq Bay: A quiet area with good views over to Tiran Island. It's a half an hour drive away from Naama Bay but only 4 miles from the airport. Dahab was originally a Bedouin fishing village that today is world-renowned for its windsurfing, because of the reliable winds that provide outstanding flat water conditions. Dahab means 'gold' in Arabic. In Sinai it means golden sands, turquoise sea and off-beat cafe life. Dahab is approximately 90 km from the airport of Sharm El Sheikh. |
